Defense Department Sends $225 Million More in Munitions to Ukraine

It is the 61st presidential drawdown to restock munitions for weaponry.

During the NATO summit this month, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced that the U.S. has approved the 61st presidential drawdown of security funding for Ukraine.

“This package will provide Ukraine additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs and includes one Patriot battery, munitions for rocket systems, and artillery and antitank weapons,” said Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh. Javelin systems and AT-4 rockets are also among the weapons provided.

This most recent contribution to Ukraine’s defense, worth around $225 million, brings the total value of U.S. security assistance for Ukraine to more than $53.7 billion. This funding has been sourced through both the presidential drawdown authority and the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Press Secretary Singh as she communicates the activity of the Pentagon.
  • That U.S. officials would be prudent in the ongoing weapons contributions to Ukraine.
  • For members of the president’s administration to receive God’s wisdom as they collaborate with U.S. allies to pursue peace.
